Travers and the classic Disney film, Cameron Mackintosh’s adaptation delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.Enter London in 1910, where the troubled Banks family is searching for a new nanny with a long list of demands, only to find Mary Poppins exceeds them beyond their wildest imaginations. The wind blows her right into their lives and changes their lives and hearts with her special brand of caring empathy and strict discipline, topped off with a spot of magic. Mary reintroduces the Banks family to each other and teaches them to renew their bonds and find connections within their community as well. Just when they can’t remember life before her, it is ultimately her time to move on to the next family in need. Filled with songs you’ll remember and magic you’ve never seen; Mary Poppins is sure to make you feel like a kid again, while showing that even adults must learn new lessons.
