Project Culture
Project Culture are a 4-piece art rock band who have spent the last year gigging relentlessly, charming audiences across London and Surrey with their unique blend of melodic indie pop and tryhard slacker rock. They are just as inspired by books, films, theatre and stand-up comedy as they are by indie rock, living up to their name by drawing from a wide range of pop culture to create something truly their own.
The band have been praised by BBC Introducing for their “post-punk energy and the sense of urgency in the songwriting” and their ability to “address and transform clichés into original turns of phrase” in their lyrics, and recently performed at Alexandra Palace as part of the venue's 150th birthday celebrations. Project Culture plan on spending the rest of 2023 recording new material, as well as continuing to play more shows, and write about themselves in the third person.
Velvet Lapel
Velvet Lapel is a fresh musical project born from the creative minds of four friends during their university days. Based in East London, this band is all about improvisation and experimentation. Their goal? To define a unique sound that encapsulates their love for music. Drawing inspiration from artists like Amy Winehouse, Hiatus Kaiyote, Jorja Smith, and Stevie Wonder, Velvet Lapel blends elements from various genres, allowing them to explore and create something entirely distinctive. With five originals already in the bag, expect more groundbreaking music from this talented ensemble.
Cornelis Gerard
Cornelis Gerard writes songs that explore the truth in everyday life in gritty and glorious detail. He expresses authentic thoughts and feelings in whatever musical genre feels right, whether that’s punk rock manifestos, electronic experiments indie pop anecdotes.
His latest project will see a return to funk and punk-infused indie-rock, starting with the release of Don’t Be Jealous (6 September 2023) which mixed the likes of Blondie, the Virgins and the Killers to provide a future indie-disco dance floor filler.
