Making Waves from Taiwan: Taiwan Beats at SXSW 2026
At SXSW 2026, Taiwan Beats spotlights six acts that embody Taiwan’s bold new sound and island spirit. Acclaimed singer Hung Pei-yu and award-winning breakout artist someshiit reshape pop and hip-hop for a new generation; Our Shame and Modern Cinema Master channel sharp, genre-blurring energy beneath cool exteriors; while veteran rock bands Sorry Youth and Flesh Juicer, performing in Taiwanese, root the showcase in local culture and explosive live power.
By bringing Taiwan’s bold creative spirit to SXSW, these six acts aim to make waves and resonate with international audiences, drawing the world closer to Taiwan.
