About this Event
Join Adaptive Design for a dynamic, end-of-school-year gathering that brings together educators, therapists, parents, and practitioners for a day of reflection and hands-on making.
Have you participated in an Adaptive Design workshop recently and been using tangible symbols in your classroom, home, or program? If so, this event is for you.
Participants can expect a highly interactive, hands-on experience that blends reflection, collaboration, and making.
The day includes:
- Revisit core concepts of tactile communication
- Peer-to-peer sharing successes and challenges
- Actively problem-solve using scenarios from your own practice
- Fabricating your own tangible symbols

What to prepare:
- Bring a small selection of meaningful objects from your classroom or therapeutic setting or choose from our selection of objects.
- Bring any questions, challenges, or examples you'd like to explore with the group.
- If you are interested in sharing your experience working with tangible symbols in a 5-10 minute talk, please contact [email protected].
*Important*
Who should attend? Only those who have attended previous Tactile Talks Workshops with Adaptive Design, either at your school, a conference, or at our workshop. (There will be other introductory workshops coming up soon!)
CTLE credits are available for NYS participants, and CEUs are available for national participants. Pre and Post surveys are required.
Food & Beverage: Coffee and pastries between 9-9:30 AM. Lunch provided between 12-1 PM.
