One swallow doesn’t make a summer — but one swift always makes my day’
Look up this summer and join Sarah Roberts for a community Swift Walk celebrating one of our most extraordinary summer visitors, the common swift.
The evening begins with a relaxed introduction featuring a display of nest boxes and books, before heading out on a walk across Sarah’s local “patch” to visit known nesting sites. As dusk falls, watch and listen for swifts screaming overhead before swooping back into their nests for the night.
Sarah hopes to inspire more people to help monitor local nests and support efforts to protect and grow swift populations in the area.
