About this Event
The "Showcasing Projects with Industry: Sustainable Approaches for Civil and Environmental Engineering" poster event will showcase the efforts of MEng and MSc students taking part in the 'Independent Study in Collaboration with Industry' CL973 module within University of Strathclyde's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Students will summarise the work they have completed so far with external partners who have identified key sustainability challenges within their sectors.
This year's projects include collaborations with NGOs, national agencies, engineering firms, energy companies, major utilities, testing laboratories, local trusts and councils, and international research organisations. Partners include SDG Scotland Network, Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), Transport Scotland, and Glasgow City Council.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and walk ins will be permissible on the day, but you are encouraged to register so that we can ensure appropriate catering (consisting of teas/coffees and light snack).
This event is part of the Student Sustainability Festival, which is a cornerstone of the University of Strathclyde's Sustainability Week.
The Student Sustainability Festival incorporates the Symposium in the afternoon, which will include a welcome from the Principal and a Keynote address from Laura Anderson (LessWasteLaura). There will also be a showcase of other students' work from across the University, and various Poster Competitions.
Attendees to this event are welcome to attend other events in the Sustainabilty Festival.
