Sure Bet: A Comprehensive Problem Gambling Training
Join us for this 3 day intensive training session designed to equip healthcare professionals across disciplines with essential knowledge and skills for working with individuals experiencing gambling-related problems. This training is appropriate for any health care professional seeking in depth information on this emerging concern including but not limited to: Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Professional Nurses, Psychiatrists, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialists, Peer Support Specialists, Recovery Coaches, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors, and Addiction Treatment Center Staff.
Sure Bet 1 provides foundational knowledge about gambling disorder and problem gambling, including assessment techniques, evidence-based treatment interventions, counseling theory and practice, ethical considerations, and financial aspects of treatment.
Sure Bet 2 builds on this foundation with advanced practice skills in Motivational Interviewing and financial counseling, with specialized focus on serving diverse populations including military personnel, adolescents, young adults, older adults, women, and their family members.
Important: Attendance at both Sure Bet 1 and 2 meets the minimum gambling skills training requirement for the North Carolina Problem Gambling Provider Network. While acceptance into the provider network is not guaranteed, completion of this training series fulfills a key eligibility requirement for enrollment consideration.
Special Opportunity for Peer Support Specialists & Recovery Coaches Peer Support Specialists and Recovery Coaches who attend both Sure Bet 1 and 2 will receive free attendance to the upcoming live peer support training in February. This training will satisfy the training requirements for enrollment as a provider on the North Carolina Problem Gambling Network.
