About this Event
The Bubrick Center for Pediatric OCD, a newly established center within the Child Mind Institute, is pleased to host its inaugural event. We invite educators and professionals to join us in building a stronger, more informed community of support for youth with OCD.
About This Event
Children with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) experience persistent, unwanted thoughts called obsessions that are often upsetting and difficult to control. To cope with the anxiety caused by these obsessions, children develop repetitive actions or rituals called compulsions. Kids as young as five can develop OCD, and they often hide their rituals until they become overwhelming.
This workshop provides professionals with a practical understanding of OCD and related disorders, along with strategies to recognize and respond to symptoms. Participants will learn evidence-based tools to support children and families in developing actionable skills to reduce avoidance and promote flexibility.
