This 3-hour training is essential for social work supervisors who want to integrate ethical standards with social justice and cultural humility in their supervisory roles. It meets the 3 CEU requirement for supervision for Maryland Board-Approved Supervisors.
Learning Objectives:
1.List the ethical standards in social work supervision and learn how to apply them effectively within social justice and cultural humilityin a play therapy session.
2 . Discuss skills to identify and manage boundary issues and professional conduct challenges, ensuring ethical practice and fostering a supportive supervisory environment in a play therapy session.
3. Discuss several practical strategies to create equitable and culturally responsive supervisory practices that support the diverse needs of children and families in a play therapy session.

Sabra Starnes, a Maryland Board Supervisor, Virginia Board Supervisor Maryland Board of Counselors Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, has been an Independent Clinical Social Worker licensed in Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Ohio for the past 24 years. As the Founder of Next Place Therapy Services, she specializes in working with clients aged 3-16 and their families, on adoption, school refusal, school challenges, anxiety, depression and social emotinal challenges.
Beyond her professional role, Sabra enjoys a well-balanced life with activities like playing with her grandchildren, swimming, traveling, comedy shows, and indulging in romantic docuseries on Netflix.
