MARIA BERTEL
Is a danish trombone player, improviser and composer. The acoustic sound of herinstrument amplified creates an output that draws inspiration from drone and noise music.What is normally not hearable is presenting itself, movements, metal and breath becomes a swirling part of her compositions. Changing organic patterns are emerging, tiny sounds becomes brutally clear as well as the range of overtones of the instrument. Apart from her work as a solo artist she performs and composes in groups like the notorious four piece noise rock band Selvhenter and improvised noise outfit duo Nina Garcia & Maria Bertel. She has also collaborated with artists like Chinese saxophone player Lao Dan, and Virginia Genta of Jooklo duo. JEAN-PHILLIPE GROSS
Composer and improviser. Jean-Philippe Gross is a self-taught musician. He started out playing the drums before turning to the use of electronic tools in the 2000s. In concert, he plays with a dedicated feedback system. In the studio, he continues his research with a “Serge modular system”. At the crossroads of electronic and instrumental music, Jean-Philippe Gross develops a physical relationship with sound, playing with ruptures and acoustic phenomena. Never locked into any kind of systematism, he allows himself extremes to take advantage of a wide range of possibilities, and pays particular attention to timbre, grain and sound quality, even when rough. He has composed music for dance and performance, as well as for contemporary ensembles such as Ensemble Dedalus. In concert, he collaborates with Marc Baron, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Clare Cooper (Nevers), Stéphane Garin. He works for dance with choreographer Camille Mutel.
He co-founded the Fragment concert series in Metz in 2001. In 2019, he created the record label Eich.

This duo brings together saxophonist/clarinetist Francesco Bigoni
and bassist/producer Luca Curcio, two Italian musicians rooted in
Copenhagen for more than a decade. Their collaboration explores
the tension between breath and pulse through improvisation, unfolding through ample melodic lines, micro-rhythms, and trance- like circularity, creating a meditative and visceral exploration of time, space, and resonance. Together, they draw from a wide spectrum of musical experiences and influences, allowing the music to remain unboxed, guided by curiosity and deep listening.
