BODY-MIND STATES - What holds and drives me?⭐ For experienced Contact Improvisers.
⭐ The intensive is limited to max 30 participants.
What makes your dancing feel rich, alive, nourishing, and deeply satisfying? Is it a particular quality in the body, a specific quality in the connection to someone, or a certain state of mind? How much is it actually about fancy CI moves?
What keeps me long term deeply satisfied in CI spaces is the incredible variety of flavours, textures, and emotions that flow through my body, heart, and mind. I’m becoming more aware of the body-mind states I aim to invite in my teaching - and I’m continually surprised by their depth and diversity.
How do body and mind co-create these states? How does the mind influence the body, and how does change emerge from this interaction? We will explore this through observation, allowing, inviting, and actively shaping transitions.
My passion for how the human body moves in integrated ways forms the foundation of this workshop. We will explore developmental movement patterns and elasticity of the fascia, weaving these elements into our practice. Contact Improvisation will be our shared language, with weight-sharing negotiations playing a central role. Additionally, we will dedicate time to technical labs, where I will share some of my findings and insights in greater detail. The rich knowledge of other experienced dancers and teachers will boost our learnings.
As we have the luxury of working six days with a free day in between, I imagine proposing a rather clear concept for the first three days and then completely go with where the energy wants to flow during the second half of the workshop.
