Esteban Maxera Trio is an Argentine band that approaches South American musical roots through the language of jazz and groove. Its repertoire is entirely made up of original compositions by Esteban Maxera (bass player). Completing the trio are Andrés Tarrab (drums) and Kimey Gómez (tenor sax). The trio is conformed in a challenging lineup without piano or guitar.
Every year they take their proposal to Europe as part of their summer tours.

They have recorded 5 albums, in trio and quartet formats. “Paisajes” was recorded in Bari (Italy) in the Angapp studios, a local label. Renowned South American musicians Hugo Fattoruso (Uruguay; Latin Grammy) and Thiago Espírito Santo (Brazil) participated in the recording of “3 Tales” in 2021. The latest studio work “Notes” was recorded live in a session in Rosario, Argentina. The full session is available on Youtube.
ESTEBAN MAXERA Bass player, composer and luthier from Rosario, Argentina. He studied at the Municipal School of Music and at the National University of Rosario, continuing his training in Buenos Aires with Alejandro Herrera. He also learned with musicians such as Thiago Espírito Santo, Jeff Berlin, and John Stowell.
ANDRÉS TARRAB Drummer, educator and producer from Rosario, Argentina. He began his musical training in his hometown. He later studied in Buenos Aires with Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla and at the School of Contemporary Music (Berklee College). He directs a Drum Department at the Secretariat of Culture and Education of the city of Rosario, Argentina.
KIMEY GOMEZ Sax player and sessionist from Rosario, Argentina. He started his music career by participating in youth projects, then he learned in different institutions in his city. He studied with the saxophonist Carlos Michelini, among others. He periodically tours Latin America with "Diego Torres" (renowned Argentine singer). Some recognitions / mentions / supports that the group has received: - National Institute of Music of Argentina. Support for the production of the albums “Oggi” (2017) and “Notas” (2024). - Ministry of Culture and Education of Santa Fe, Argentina.
