Suminagashi translates to "floating" or "spilled" ink, and in this inspiring workshop, guided by Kelly Laughlin, founder of Odette Press, you'll use colorful inks to create mesmerizing, nature-inspired designs on a silk bandana, cards and envelopes, and variety of papers. The Flow:
Grab a drink from the Wolf Point bar, then find a seat and settle in to the evening. You'll be guided through a short instruction and history of the Suminagashi process, then find your creative flow as you explore painting with ink on water.
You'll leave with:
A collection of one of a kind marbled papers and stationery, a marbled silk bandana, and a folder for carrying your pieces home. These papers are great for framing, gifting, collaging, or letter writing. All materials provided and no experience needed! Save your spots today.

Kelly Odette Laughlin is a Chicago-based artist, writer, facilitator, and creative guide and the founder of Odette Press. Her practice is an infusion of movement, ink, breath, paper, water and lyricism, drawing from a deep connection with the senses and the natural world.
