An Audacious Variety Show Amplifying Women’s Voices!
As we celebrate the voices of ALL, I am so excited to welcome our special guest, MN State Rep. and transgender pioneer, activist & advocate, Leigh Finke! Our musical guest is the powerhouse singer/songwriter Andra Suchy. Joining Andra will be multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Ylvisaker. Plus, the brilliant Shanan Custer will be joining us along with Zippy Laske and host Sue Scott!

Creator, host Sue Scott is a veteran actor, who for 24 years was the female cast member on the public radio show A Prairie Home Companion. Since 2019, Sue has been thoroughly immersed in producing Island of Discarded Women live show & podcast. Special guest Leigh Finke, a documentarian, mother of two and the first openly transgender member of the Minnesota legislature, has been serving in the MN House since 2022 for District 66A. Leight is the chair of the Queer Legislators’ Caucus and is a committed and passionate advocate for 2SLGBTQIA+ equality, racial justice, reproductive rights, Pr*son justice, education funding, gun safety and environmental equity. She was named Minnesota Woman of the Year by USA Today in 2023, a 2023 Changemaker by Minnesota Public Radio, and won the 2023 Health Hero Award at Children’s Minnesota. Musical guest Andra Suchy, a North Dakota native, hails from a talented musical family. Rooted in Folk music with touches of Country and Americana, Andra's music offers profound explorations of human emotions. Her illustrious career includes performances with esteemed artists such as Brad Paisley, Mindy Smith, Emmylou Harris, Chris Thile and John Prine. She has also collaborated on recordings with an array of indie, rock, blues, and folk acts, including The Honeydogs, Jonny Lang, Peter Ostroushko, and Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirner.
