About this Event
Starting primary school is a huge milestone for children and parents alike. While it can be an exciting time, it can also bring uncertainty, anxiety, and big emotions for the whole family.
This supportive in-person event is an opportunity to explore practical ways to help your child feel safe, confident, and emotionally ready for the big move to primary school. Drawing on simple everyday strategies, we will look at how predictable routines, positive language, emotional reassurance, and calm goodbyes can make a powerful difference in helping children settle successfully into their new schooling environment.
During the event, I will be covering how it's possible to:
- create a reassuring morning and after-school routine
- build your child’s confidence through simple conversations
- reduce anxiety around separation at drop-off
- respond to worries in a calm and supportive way
- use positive language to strengthen emotional security
- help your child feel prepared for the changes ahead
- manage your own emotions during this important transition
Who is this event tailored towards? -
The event is ideal for parents, carers, and professionals supporting children who are getting ready to begin primary school, and offers gentle, practical tools to make the transition smoother for everyone.
Join us for a drink and a calm, open, supportive environment to talk through anything that you may be thinking about when it comes to your child starting school. A chance to chat with myself - a trained pyschotherapist and parenting coach - but crucially other parents too.
