About this Event
subtext Coffee is coming to Nagare
We’re very excited to welcome Subtext Coffee Roasters from Toronto for a special cupping night on April 24th. One of the most exciting light roast approaches we’ve come across recently.
Founded in 2020 by Alex Castellani, Subtext began as a project to connect more directly with producers and the full journey of coffee. In a short time, they’ve become one of Toronto’s most respected micro-roasters, known for a transparent and thoughtful approach to sourcing and roasting.
Their work focuses on clarity, structure and expressing origin with precision. Clean, honest coffees that are built to be understood.
This is a rare chance to experience their work in depth, side by side on the table.

On the night, guests will have the opportunity to taste 10+ coffees, including:
Adriana Franco – Wush Wush (Washed)
Emerson Narvaez – Gesha (Washed)
Stephen Nendela – Batian (Washed / Natural / Honey)
Jheison Lopez – Caturra (Semi-Washed)
Ernedis Rodriguez – Sidra (Washed)
Castro Khale – Sudan Rume / Gesha / SL28 (Natural Anaerobic)
The Subtext team will also be sharing a few special brews during the session.
This will be an open and relaxed cupping format, designed for both industry and anyone curious to explore coffee more deeply.
