This two-day intensive workshop is designed for stylists looking to build the practical and professional skills required to work confidently within commercial productions. Covering the full lifecycle of a commercial job, the course focuses on both the creative and logistical demands of the role.
Across the two days, we will explore prep and script breakdown, understanding character, and translating briefs into clear visual direction through decks and pitching. You’ll learn how to organise a job effectively, build and manage kit bags, and work closely with producers and wider production teams (including your own).
The workshop will cover fittings, on-set workflow, and people management, alongside detailed guidance on budgeting — including budget breakdowns, buying, managing spend, prep and returns time, and wrapping a job efficiently. We will also look at time management strategies to help you maximise prep time and deliver under tight commercial schedules.
The course concludes with a focus on career development, including portfolio building and pitching yourself for commercial work.
This workshop is suitable for emerging stylists, assistants stepping up, and creatives looking to professionalise their commercial styling practice.
