About this Event
This presentation from Irish Rule of Law International (IRLI) Executive Director, Maria McCloskey will provide an overview of IRLI's work in Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and beyond to strengthen justice systems, improve access to justice, and support survivor-centred approaches in cases involving gender-based violence.
It will explore how comparative experience and multidisciplinary collaboration contribute to strengthening institutions across the justice chain while supporting locally led and sustainable reform.
Attendees will gain insight into the practical contribution of professional expertise across jurisdictions, and a deeper understanding of how justice systems can better respond to vulnerable groups.
This session is eligible for 1 CPD point.
IRLI is a civil society organisation supported by both branches of the legal professions across the island of Ireland. It works to strengthen justice systems that uphold human rights across multiple jurisdictions. Since its beginnings in 2007, it has collaborated with academics, judges, legal practitioners, policymakers, and civil society to deepen collective understanding of the relationship between the rule of law, democracy, sustainable development, and human rights.
