About this Event

Stow-Ho House Presents Flavours of Prince - Thur 21st May

We missed you.

It’s been 10 years since we lost Prince. We celebrate the legend with musical flavours inspired by his legacy all night long with some amazing DJs.

Our Surprise Guest is another one of our absolute favourites and will be announced on the day. But that’s not all, we also welcome Heidi to our DJ booth.

Heidi is an extremely charismatic and energetic personality who has worked incredibly hard over the years to make her mark on the electronic music scene. Heidi grew up in Windsor, Canada, on the border of Detroit, where the music scene of the Motor City and nearby Chicago left a deep impression on her.

Relocating to London in 2000 after a brief stint from 1997-1998, Heidi picked up her craft and deep expertise working behind the counter at the now defunct Koobla Records, before becoming part of the team that opened up London’s foremost record shop, Phonica. She met so many artists working there that organically shaped her life without her evening realising or knowing and before she knew it she was Djing around the world thanks to the Berlin crew Get Physical records. She soon left London for Germany. After a 3-year stint in Berlin learning & trying to master her career which she didn’t even know was happening. Heidi moved back to London to front BBC radio 1 show ‘In New DJs We Trust’. Her very own ‘BBC Radio 1 Residency’ soon followed where she championed the world’s best electronic underground music and artists for 9 years. Heidi has played for many of the world’s biggest festivals & clubs including Glastonbury, Movement, Sonar, Exit, Creamfields, Parklife etc. as well as for many of Ibiza’s most famous residencies over many years.

And of course we couldn’t do a Prince night without Tayo, returning once again to the Stow-Ho House decks with his impeccable selections. Our residents Trafford and Samuel Potts will support and this time we’re taking over Exale Brewery at the naughty end of Blackhorse Rd industrial estate.

This edition of Stow Ho House raises money for @brainstrustuk in memory of Alex Warwick (@fight4alexuk). Alex was a beautiful soul whose dream was to become a doctor and help others, but at only 23 he sadly passed away this year due to a brain tumour. Funds raised will be used to help others like Alex and their families, in his memory. Alex was a huge music fan and the beloved brother of a friend of Stow Ho House.

Previous DJ guests at Stow-Ho House are Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco), Tim Burgess, Joe Goddard, Greg Wilson, Secretsundaze, Hervé, Lottie, Adelphi Music Factory, Frank Tope, Tayo, Sarahtonin, Stevo (Mixmag), Matt MB, Neil Collins, Trafford (Resident) and Samuel Potts (Resident).

Thank you to everyone who has supported us and danced to the early hours. Read all about Stow-Ho House in the Evening Standard , The Mirror and the Waltham Forest Echo.

Big thanks to our friends at Central Estates and Alpha Theta.

Hope to see you there
