Storytelling Retreat: Finding Your Story10-12 April Wales
There's a story in you. Maybe it's been waiting quietly for years. Maybe it's pressing at your ribs, demanding to be told. Maybe you're not even sure what it is yet - just a feeling, a memory, a question that won't let you go.
This weekend is for bringing that story into the light.
We'll work with writing, ritual, prayer, and embodied techniques drawn from my time in residency with the Peter Brook Company, Augusto Boal, Nancy Meckler, and Kneehigh Theatre. But we'll also draw on something older - the spirit path I've walked for over twenty years, where story isn't just craft, it's ceremony. Where finding your voice means finding what's true.
This isn't about performance or perfection. It's about listening to what wants to be spoken, and learning to trust it. We'll work with breath, movement, silence, and sound. We'll make space for the stories that live in your body as much as your mind. And we'll hold each other as witnesses while those stories find their shape.
Whether you're a seasoned storyteller or have never told a story in your life, if something in you is asking to be expressed - this weekend is for you.
What we'll explore:
Writing and voice techniques for authentic self-expression
Ritual and prayer as doorways to story
Movement and embodiment practices
Creating sacred space for personal narrative
The difference between performing a story and being a story
Limited to 17 participants to ensure intimate, supported work.
