About this Event
From mapping the stars to navigating the oceans, globes have long captured the meeting point of history, science and politics, helping us make sense of our place in the world. Join Dr Phillip Brooker, Professor Michael Mair and Sabreen Syeed from the University of Liverpoolβs Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology department as they unpack how this familiar object can provide us with a powerful lens for understanding how humans have sought to understand, claim and explain the Earth.
This talk is linked to two 19th Century globes on display in the Lightbulb Moments exhibition.
