About this Event
Sorrel Sky Gallery celebrates sculptor Star Liana York's 50-year artistic career with a major retrospective exhibition. Since moving to the Southwest in 1985, York has created a vast body of bronze work reflecting her deep interest in the region's people, animals, environment, and history. An avid horsewoman who rides daily on her ranch near Abiquiu, New Mexico, she finds inspiration surrounded by vast open vistas.
York is one of Southwest Art Magazine's 30 most influential artists. Her monumental bronze sculptures are held in collections nationwide, including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., Miami Zoo, and Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos. She has been honored with regular invitations to the Coors Western Art Exhibit and Cowgirl Up!, and has received ongoing recognition for her exceptional contributions to contemporary Western art.
This retrospective offers a rare opportunity to see York's artistic evolution spanning five decades, from her early explorations to her current celebrated works that infuse bronze with personality and movement.
