established in 1986, celebrates its 40th Anniversary. It is one of New York City's premier comedy clubs, and comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Amy Schumer have graced its stage while continuing to showcase the best comedy New York has to offer with shows from NY to LA. Comedian bios:

MJ (Mina Cheon) is an artist, professor emerita, and former dean of an art college turned comedian. Taking the stage as MJ Standup Korean, she performs all around New York with art history jokes and observational, satiric, dark romantic comedy that is message-driven, once a professor, always professing. She’s produced, curated, and performed in shows about peace-building with laughter, K-Comedy, comedy about life and death in art and cultural spaces in New York and beyond. Her “MJ’s Hour: K-Comedy Art Activism” at Whitman College in Washington was an interwoven cultural comedy hour and art show that explored topics of Korean shame, New York sex, Asian stereotypes, global geopolitics, life and death, art and comedy, and art history. She joins the team at Stand Up NY to work on creative programming.

Timothy Kwon is a NJ/NY-based comedian and actor who performs all over New York including The Stand. He believes his mission is to serve people in the best way he knows how: entertaining audiences and filling rooms with laughter. Armed with edgy, sharp wit on one hand and a ridiculous penchant for silliness on the other, his unique voice leaves quite the impression. He performed at the New York Comedy Festival and in addition to his stand-up work, he is recognized for his contributions to the New York food and lifestyle scene as a writer for Burger Weekly, where he has reviewed top culinary destinations across the city.

Jae Shin is a New York-based Korean-American comedian, actor, and multi-disciplinary artist known for his sharp observational humor regarding cultural identity and the immigrant experience. A graduate of Yale University, he pivoted from architectural design to the stage, performing at premier NYC venues like New York Comedy Club and Gotham Comedy Club. He is a featured performer and writer on HBO Max as part of the Sesame Street: See Us Coming Together. In addition to stand-up, Shin is an accomplished playwright and actor, frequently collaborating with companies like Leviathan Lab to tell authentic Asian-American stories.

Alex Kim is a New York-based comedian who performs at premier venues such as The Stand, New York Comedy Club, and Caveat. He is the co-host of the comedy podcast Where Are You From, From?, which explores the experiences of Asians living in America. A prominent figure in the AAPI comedy scene, he has been featured in the Very Big Very Asian Comedy Festival, co-produced variety shows like Hot Gaysian Summer, and the Boba Gays Comedy at the Lincoln Center.

Eunji Kim is a Chicago-based comedian, actress, and writer who has appeared in recurring roles on NBC’s Chicago Fire and Chicago Med. A former senior writer for Cards Against Humanity, she was a 2017 Bob Curry Fellow at The Second City and has been featured at the Netflix Is A Joke Festival. Her other prominent credits include a guest starring role on Showtime’s Work in Progress and serving as a judge on the Hulu unscripted series Best in Dough.

Peter S. Kim is an L.A.-based comedian, actor, and writer who currently stars as a series regular on the Amazon animated series Fairfax and serves as a staff writer for FOX’s HouseBroken. Named a "New Face of Comedy" at the 2021 Just for Laughs festival, his extensive screen credits include appearances on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Apple TV+’s Shrinking, and Paramount+’s Frasier. A former standout at The Second City in Chicago, he is also the co-host of the podcast 2 Kims 1 Pod and is set to release his debut comedy special, Rice Piglet, in 2026.
