Discover the art of stage combat in this comprehensive 6-week course. This programme is designed for performers of all levels and will introduce you to the essential techniques used in theatre, film, and live events. Ruth Cooper-Brown, our experienced instructor, will guide you through the fundamentals of unarmed combat and the creation of believable fight sequences. You will learn how to integrate combat into storytelling, enhancing your ability to portray dynamic characters and scenes.
Ruth Cooper-Brown is the Founder, Fight & Intimacy Director/Coordinator & Teacher at Rc-Annie, the UK’s premiere dramatic violence company. She trained with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat as Teacher and Examiner, and served on the committee as (the first female) Chairperson for 6 years. Among several trainings and qualifications, she is a BADC Certified Teacher, Master at Arms & Examiner and a Member of the Intimacy Practitioners Guild.
Classes are held weekly, with all necessary props and safety equipment provided. We prioritise safety and proper technique whilst helping you develop your skills. This course is perfect for actors, drama students, theatre enthusiasts, and anyone interested in the craft of stage combat. No prior combat experience is necessary, but participants must be 18 or over.
