About this Event
Walk through the history of Toronto as we explore the hidden gems of the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood, among the oldest neighbourhoods in the city. We'll learn how the St. Lawrence Market has been a community hub in Toronto for over two hundred years, leading to the growth and development of the neighbourhood around it. This tour, led by Heritage Toronto in partnership with marketcityTO, will emphasize the market's role as a vital institution and its social, cultural, and economic influence on the neighbourhood, and the city as a whole. At the end of the tour, participants will receive a coupon for the St. Lawrence Market to enjoy some treats in the South Market.
We will meet at the south end of Market Lane Park, close to the TD branch on Front St. Come explore the neighbourhood, rain or shine! Be sure to bring a water bottle and come dressed for the weather. This tour is led in English and includes walking approximately 1km, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
