About this Event
Join us for a walk through Meadowlily Woods as we explore the first spring wildflowers of the season. This walk is perfect for beginners - no experience or plant knowledge needed. We’ll show you what to look for, share simple tips to help you recognize wildflowers on your own, and talk about how these plants are connected to the animals and habitats around them. Come curious and enjoy discovering nature in the Forest City!
We will also introduce you to the iNaturalist community science app where you can upload photos of your plant, animal and fungi observations from the walk as part of the City Nature Challenge! Please download iNaturalist and create your account in advance. If you would like help getting started with iNaturalist then arrive 15 minutes early and an iNaturalist Ambassador will be there to teach you how to make observations.
This walk is being led by Quinten Wiegersma, a seasonal Park Naturalist for Algonquin Provincial Park.
We will meet at the entrance to Meadowlily Woods trail at 26 Meadowlily Rd S #35, London, ON N6M 1C3. Parking is available on the side of the road.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. This hike will be on uneven terrain and is not wheelchair accessible.
