Doors + Mixer: 3:00 PM
Performances Start: 4:00 PM
Join us as we launch a bold new year of programming with Wavemakers Women & Music.
We’re gathering artists, community partners, fans, and friends for an afternoon of connection, conversation, and seriously good music at Found Sound — the new rehearsal and studio space created by Austin musician Jackie Venson. Performances feature the musical mojo of Courtney Santana and Parker Woodland.
Your ticket includes light snacks and drinks, access to our 3PM mixer, and performances by two powerhouse woman-led bands who bring heart, grit, and commanding live energy.
Our 2026 season includes public showcases, intimate Live-in-Studio tapings, stagewear swaps (an elevated clothing swap for women who love to make a statement — consciously and sustainably), and expanded partnerships with organizations like Austin Woman, Planned Parenthood, and Kendra Scott.
Come raise a glass, connect with our community, and help us set the tone for the year ahead.
About The Artists:
Courtney Santana
With over 35 years in the arts, Courtney Santana is an acclaimed singer, songwriter, and activist whose work bridges performance and policy. She has contributed to more than 30 albums and appeared in productions including Dreamgirls and RENT. In 2013, she was honored with her own day by then-Mayor Steve Adler in the City of Austin.
Courtney is the founder of The Survive2Thrive Foundation and CEO of SANCTUARY PBC, supporting thousands of domestic violence survivors in securing safe housing and critical resources. A former lobbyist and policy director for the Texas Council on Family Violence, she helped advance legislation protecting survivors across Texas. She also served as a VAWA policy reviewer under Joe Biden and was appointed to the City of Austin’s Human Rights Commission in 2019.
She’ll be launching her new app for domestic violence survivors this March — continuing her lifelong commitment to advocacy and empowerment.
Parker Woodland
Austin power trio Parker Woodland is known for joyfully cathartic, high-energy live shows featuring powerhouse vocals from bassist Erin Walter, melodic-psych guitar from Andrew Solin, and driving rhythms from drummer Keri Cinquina.
Frontwoman Erin Walter is also a Unitarian Universalist Justice Minister and longtime human rights advocate, bringing conviction and lived commitment to the band’s high-voltage performances.
Celebrating new singles “Police On My Back” and “Get Me to the Show,” Parker Woodland has earned praise for earworm hooks, fierce indie-rock energy, and unapologetic self-expression. They’ll appear as SXSW Official Artists this March and are featured in French author Benoit Cohen’s upcoming documentary on U.S. artists resisting fascism.
