About this Event
Embrace the approach of summer by discovering stunning gardens and tranquil corners in the Fleet Street neighbourhood.
It’s Mental Health Awareness Week in the middle of May, with the theme of community. So, it’s an opportunity to make time for yourself during your lunch break, stretch your legs, clear your head and meet your neighbours on this guided walk.
Led by City guide Sarah Williams-Robbins (Mrs Londoner), we will celebrate the seasonal opening of the immaculate lawns, exquisite borders and beautiful blooms of Middle Temple, tucked between the Thames and bustling Fleet Street.
We will also enjoy the more naturalistic planting of Inner Temple, designed to attract an abundance of wildlife; and a secret vegetable patch behind the Church of the Knights’ Templar.
We will wander through a churchyard associated with famous writers, with its roots in Roman Londinium. And we end in the grounds of a medieval monastery, to discover tranquil corners by Shakespeare’s former playhouse and home.
