Artist David ‘DJ’ Johnson is well known for his stunning plein air paintings – he is an adventurer who likes to climb mountains and paint extraordinary landscapes.
This workshop involves exploring how to paint the light, colours and shapes found in spring blossom. You will learn techniques to enable you to play around with the focal point of a painting, and how softening marks helps bolder marks to 'stand out'. Learn how to achieve a variety of marks and textures using palette knives and brushes - including Fan blenders and large brushes.
This workshop will be taught through a series of demonstrations and one to one tuition. You will study and play with colour, light, tonal values and textures, allowing for individual creative expression.
