In this hands-on outdoor workshop, guests will use spray paint to build layered night skies filled with streaking meteors and celestial backgrounds. The session focuses on translating the motion and intensity of the Perseids into vibrant compositions that emphasize movement, contrast, and atmosphere.
Astronomy Presentation: Perseids & Cosmic Storytelling
Learn about the Perseid Meteor Shower, one of the most anticipated celestial events of the year, and how to spot meteors in the night sky. Guests will explore the mythology of Perseus, the hero behind the Perseids’ name, and discover fun facts about prominent August constellations, including Perseus, Aquarius, and Sagittarius, connecting science, storytelling, and the visual language of the stars.
Please note: This workshop takes place outdoors, guests are encouraged to dress in layers for typical Bay Area evening weather.
