Join us for our bi-monthly night of poetry, spoken-word & sweet treats at Chococo on Gandy Street. Just like a regular Spork! but more chilled, and much more chocolatey. With 2 incredible featured artists (Jake Wild Hall & Ceri Baker) a mini open mic, and (of course) delicious hot chocolates, soft drinks and other refreshments available from the café. Plus some free samples! All hosted by Chris Milky WhiteJake Wild Hall is an award winning poet and one half of Bad Betty Press. He has performed on BBC Radio and at festivals and literary events across the UK. He's a multiple slam champion and his work has been published in magazines, anthologies and online journals. He is the Author of two pamphlets; Solomon’s World which was longlisted for the Saboteur award for best pamphlet and Blank.
He has worked with partners including Penguin, Apple’s and Snakes, Writing East Midlands, Derby Poetry Festival and Pearsons. He has also been a guest tutor for Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham University, King’s College London, Lincoln University and others. His debut collection Alanis Morissette was published by Broken Sleep Books in January 2026.
Ceri Baker is a key part of the Spork! creative team; a multi-slam winning poet, facilitator and former Bard of Exeter. A regular featured on BBC Radio Bristol and Devon Upload shows, Ceri has been commissioned by the likes of Devon Wildlife Trust, and performed her work at nights and festivals across the UK from Shambala to WOMAD. Her first collection, F*ck It… Pass The Salt, Please was released in March 2024.

Please note, this event will take place upstairs at Chococo, which is only accessible via 1 flight of stairs, with the toilet also located on the first floor. This is an alcohol free event, but the café at Chococo will be open all night and selling their usual range of delicious hot drinks, soft drinks and sweet treats.
The event is adult orientated, with an age guidance of 14+.
Tickets are £9, with a £7 self selecting concession rate.

Open Mic Tickets are £3. There will be a maximum of 7 open mic performers. Limited spaces available. First come, first served. Open Micers have a maximum of 4 mins or 1 poem each. For any questions about taking part, give us an email on [email protected]
