THE SPOOKY PUPPY 2025 COSTUME CONTEST IS UPON US!
Get ready for the biggest Halloween event of the year, here at Temescal Brewing!
Join us on SAT, Oct 25, 2025, for a a puptacular event filled with delicious beer and adorable pups, SPOOKY PUPPY 2025!

Bring your furry friend in their best costume and let them strut their stuff in our dog costume contest — three winners will be featured on next year's cans of Spooky Puppy IPA. All are welcome, pup or no pup — it's worth coming just to witness the cute mayhem.

Event Timing:
🐶 12 PM: In-person registration opens. Please be here on time lined up at the sign-up table if you are planning to enter your pup, as there are MANY pups and limited runway slots. Eventbrite RSVP does not guarantee competition entry — registration must be done in person.
🐶 4 PM: The show begins! Contestants will walk the red carpet for our panel of distinguished judges.

Competition Details:
Our judges will score dogs in the following categories:

• Originality: Creative costume ideas we haven’t seen before that are perfect for your dog and get the crowd roaring!
• Costume Quality: Whether it's totally impressive or scrappy DIY, we want to see effort!
• Tricks & Treats: Show off some skills! Sit, rollover, howl for the crowd — creativity counts!
• Remember: Only one pup per entry and costumes need to shine in photos. Humans can dress up too, but only the dogs’ costumes will be featured on our cans! So make sure that dogs' costumes makes sense on their own.

Your dog is competing to have their portrait featured on next years Spooky Puppy can labels that’ll be shared far and wide! They will be famous (at least in the Temescal universe)! Keep in mind: Does the costume translate well in a picture? Will the cuteness melt someone at the grocery store?
Note: Only pups’ costumes will be featured on the cans; pet parents are encouraged to dress up, but ensemble costumes with humans will not be considered.

Three winners will take home a prize bundle AND be featured on next year’s Spooky Puppy IPA cans.

🚨Attention Remote Pups
Already have Halloween plans? Or maybe your pup doesn’t love crowds or being aorund other dogs? We’re hosting a remote competition for this year’s spookiest pup, with the winner also featured as our fourth winner on next year’s cans! Entries open up on FRIDAY 10/10 and will be open until until midnight on WEDNESDAY, 10/22. We’ll announce the winner on Saturday, 10/25 via Imstagram and at the event!
