Welcome to Forró!Brazil has given the world many amazing dances beyond samba and forró is one of its true gems. 🤩Rooted in Northeastern Brazil, forró is a joyful and social partner dance that combines connection, rhythm, and playfulness.💃🕺
Forró is danced in pairs and can include everything from a close, gentle embrace to lively arm movements, turns, spins, and energetic variations. It is both fun and expressive, and it can be enjoyed at many different tempos and styles.✨
In this intro class, we will cover:
- the basic steps
- the rhythm and music
- the embrace/partner connection
- simple turns and movements
No prior dance experience is needed—beginners are very welcome. 🫶
We recommend changing partners during class, as dancing with different people is one of the best ways to develop your skills, improve your lead/follow communication, and become a more confident dancer. ✨You will also have the opportunity to try both leader and follower roles, if you would like.
Please wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely.
