In 1956, legendary Italian filmmaker Roberto Rossellini finds himself in the midst of a personal and artistic crisis. His recent films with Ingrid Bergman have failed, their marriage is collapsing, and the press is relentless. When Bergman returns to Hollywood, Rossellini accepts an unexpected invitation from Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to travel to India and document the country’s transformation.
With doubts, curiosity, and a suitcase full of spaghetti, Rossellini sets out on a journey that becomes both a creative and emotional rebirth, inspired by a culture balancing tradition and modernity.
This compelling film revisits a pivotal moment in the life of one of cinema’s great pioneers.
