Synopsis Though based on real events, Flood Zone by Marta Barceló takes place in an imagined space, the fictional representation of a small town on the Balearic Island of Mallorca. After hours of intense rain, flood waters overcome the village, bringing death and destruction and transforming residents’ lives forever. The multiple voices featured in the play explore the directions a tragedy can take us, whether down into profound despair, or uplifted by the solidarity of mutual assistance.
