This exhibition focuses on fewer, custom framed paintings. What I needed most was to slow down, take my time and dig into what sovereignty means for me as an artist, as a woman, as an American.
Sovereignty is recognizing your inherent worth. It means reclaiming your life in a way that reflects your deepest values and desires. As we fight for justice in an increasingly authoritarian country we must own our sovereignty as a people and as individuals.
