About this Event
There's nothing like moving and breathing in a community of folks with a shared understanding and common mission. Birthworkers and perinatal providers hold people at the threshold of life - and sometimes, babes, it gets heavy. Sometimes, our bodies need support in releasing so we can continue this essential work.
This practice will be underscored by deep, pulsating rhythms to help us drop into our bodies and clear energy from clients that our nervous system is holding unnecessarily. Through guided breath and somatic movement, you'll find self-awareness, personal power, catharsis, steady ground, and the energy to fuel your work - from the inside out.
After breathwork and somatic movement, you will find comfortable, easeful restorative postures that will continue the subtle body opening, while I offer a mini reiki session to every participant. Reiki allows energy to balance within you, holding tenderly what needs to be held, and releasing what needs to be released. In this space, you can rest, and, maybe for the first time in a long while, receive.
No experience necessary. Bring a journal for a brief reflection time before we close.
Some words women have shared from past somatic movement practices:
"Even in yoga classes, I'm always trying to do it 'right'- here I just felt free."
"Totally unexpected and so powerful."
"I LOVED it. Thank you, thank you."
"Unexpected catharsis!"
