About:
Greetings Chicago in the name of One Liberating Love 🦁 On Friday, February 6, #BobMarleyDay, we bring the eighth annual #SoulRebels concert back to Epiphany! Soul Rebels is a celebration of Marley's life and legacy: a night to uplift #ReggaeMusic as a living tradition within an ever-evolving cultural landscape. Always featuring an eclectic line-up of spoken word and musical acts bringing both new and classic songs, Soul Rebels honors the ways in which Marley's music and message resonate in our present contexts. In times such as these, it is more important than ever to envision a world beyond the old Babylon system of rule through dominance, division, fear and war. We fill attune to this music that helps us live in alignment with Jah, with Life, and build a world where all can thrive.
Hosted by Rasta scholar Danielle Roper and Artist-Organizer LO Kari, and once again featuring a collaborative set by Valroy Dawkins of Funkadesi with Adam Gottlieb and OneLove, this year joined for the first time also by Zahra Baker and SURINDER. OneLove will host open jams after the concert. Proceeds will go toward on-the-ground hurricane relief in Jamaica.
Won't you help us sing?
