Join Sony United Kingdom for a hands-on Portrait and Lighting Workshop at the Sony Penthouse inside W London, in the heart of Soho.
Led by Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Eric Peng, this practical session introduces the foundations of portrait lighting using Nanlite constant lighting. You’ll learn how to set up lighting with modifiers, work confidently with models, and shape light to create engaging, professional-looking portraits.
Aimed at beginner to intermediate photographers, this is a relaxed and creative opportunity to experiment, build confidence, and capture portfolio-ready images — including shooting under the iconic disco ceiling of the Sony Penthouse. A selection of Sony cameras and lenses will be available to use throughout the session, with expert guidance on hand.

Who can attend
This event series is open to all ages.
Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All participants must hold a valid ticket.
What to bring
- Valid government-issued photo ID plus a secondary form of ID
- Your own camera (any brand welcome)
- Two high-capacity, high-speed SD cards (recommended: 128GB, V30 or higher)
- Water bottle and a small snack

Please arrive 15 minutes before your session start time.
Due to the tightly scheduled programme, late arrivals may not be accommodated and tickets may be forfeited.

Take the lift to Level 1 Reception and wait for a Sony or W London team member, who will escort you to the Penthouse at the start of your session.
