P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Sofia Montrone to celebrate and discuss her new book Nymph; Call Me By Your Name meets Elena Ferrante in this debut coming-of-age novel about a young girl who spends summers working at her family’s timeworn Italian agriturismo, the tragedy that rends her life into “before” and “after,” and her romance with an American girl, which has unexpected consequences.
Sofia will be in conversation with Hilary Leichter, author of Terrace Story, and will be signing books after the talk.
Doors open at 6:30pm with the talk starting closer to 7pm. Come early and grab a drink from the !

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sofia Montrone is as an adjunct assistant professor in Columbia’s undergraduate writing program, and formerly served as editor-in-chief of The Columbia Review and the director of Columbia Artist/Teachers. Her short fiction and criticism have appeared in The Columbia Review, Quarto, and Adroit. She holds an MFA from Columbia University. Nymph is her first novel.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
Hilary Leichter is the author of the novels Temporary and Terrace Story. She was just awarded the 2026 Whiting Award for Fiction, and has been a finalist for The Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, the New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Prize. Her work in Harper's Magazine won the 2021 National Magazine Award in Fiction. Terrace Story was named a best book of 2023 by Time Magazine, The New Yorker, The LA Times, Publishers Weekly, and other publications. Hilary teaches at Columbia University and lives in New York.
