About this Event
On Monday, June 8th at the Wine Enthusiast SoHo store, we will host an evening dedicated to Italian history, wine, and unexpected culinary pairings with acclaimed scholar and Wine Enthusiast Italian Wine Reviewer, Dr. Danielle Callegari.
In celebration of her forthcoming book, A Bite-Sized History of Italy, Dr. Callegari invites you to explore the rich food and beverage traditions that have shaped Italian culture from ancient Rome to today. Guests will also enjoy a unique tasting experience featuring Rivale Wines paired with inventive sushi hand rolls from Sushi Counter.
Dr. Callegari reviews wines from Tuscany and Southern Italy for Wine Enthusiast and serves as Associate Professor in the Department of French and Italian at Dartmouth College, as well as Communications Director of the Dante Society of America. She is also co-host of the Gola podcast on Italian food and beverage culture and author of Dante’s Gluttons: Food and Society from the Convivio to the Comedy.
Guests will have the opportunity to purchase and have signed copies of A Bite-Sized History of Italy, a journey through Italian history told through food, wine, and culture.
