With the release of their anticipated debut album, ‘Songs For The Desert’ which received rave reviews in magazines like Rolling Stone and a successful tour across Europe, Smith & Liddle head out on a UK & German tour alongside their full band. After being named ‘Ones To Watch 2026’ by BBC Introducing, the duo have just packed out the Paradiso in Amsterdam and have a run of shows booked in the UK. Smith & Liddle will be playing Manchester’s ‘The Castle Hotel’ Friday 15th May.Raised on the sounds of Laurel Canyon and the British Invasion, (Billy) Smith & (Elizabeth) Liddle grew up 25 miles away from each other in small towns but only meet when Billy was on the lookout for a vocalist. The chemistry between the pair was instant, and over time their intertwined musical sensibilities evolved into something unique. With journals filled with lyrics and a treasure trove of musical ideas bubbling, the pair finally entered the studio to create their homage to soft rock, culminating in Songs For The Desert.
Although both Billy and Elizabeth initially hesitated to use their last names, a late-night session listening to Buckingham Nicks on vinyl sealed their decision to name their artist project ‘Smith & Liddle’; embracing simplicity and timelessness, they etched their names in silver and gold and set out to bring their debut record to life.
