About this Event
Hydrogen permeation is an intrinsic transport phenomenon that underpins many of the materials challenges facing hydrogen technologies. This talk outlines the physical basis of hydrogen permeation, discusses state-of-the-art experimental testing methods, and evaluates the role of permeation barrier coatings. Quantitative performance data for selected materials and coating systems are presented to illustrate current capabilities and limitations in slowing hydrogen transport.
