Size? A CI workshop with Jan-Ming Lee and Joe Evans

All of our bodies are different in size - different heights, weights, widths, proportions...
In this workshop we will explore how size shapes our dances in contact improvisation. In a dance form which focuses on weight sharing, how can we playfully and honestly navigate our differences? How can we find the dance that works for two specific, different bodies? And how do we feel about our own size when we dance?
The workshop is open to anyone with some experience of contact improvisation, from beginners to more experienced dancers.
Joe Evans and Jan-Ming Lee are very different sized dancers. They have been researching, dancing together and questioning their different body sizes, and would like to bring their games and strategies to help others in their dance!
Tickets are £22 or £16, please choose according to your situation.

At 5:30pm the regular Bristol CI jam will take place in the same space. The evening jam is FREE for anyone attending Size?

Joe Evans first came to contact improvisation as a improvising musician, collaborating with Gerald Tyler (dance/physical theatre) and co-founding Bristol free jazz legends Limbo. His lifelong interest in movement and somatic practice quickly drew him into CI as a dancer.
His recent improvised collaboration with Emmy the Harp, 'Like dewdrops, like diamonds' is here:
