Exploring the ideas behind the design and implementation of projects from a career in architecture
About this Event

In a career spanning almost 70 years, Jeremy Dixon has witnessed many changes in the prevailing architectural agenda. Before forming the Dixon Jones practice, both Ed and Jeremy had separate careers for as long in time as they were together. The talk is therefore a personal overall review, while knowing that Ed would have his own version.
Characterised by a quote from the Smithsons about their work ‘ a style for the project rather than a style for the practice’, Jeremy will look back over a number of projects, from formative influences, early works with local authorities, housing, arts projects and historical speculations. In each he will explore the ideas behind the design as well as the implementation. An enduring interest has been the nature of cities and particularly London.Jeremy Dixon studied at the Architectural Association, worked with A + P Smithson and received a knighthood for services to architecture in 2000.
His talk will be introduced by Peter St John, Caruso St John.

Doors will open at 6.30 pm with refreshments served. The talk will start at 7.00pm sharp.

For online attendance, please book your ticket before 18.00 on the day of the event. A link to watch the talk online will be sent to attendees before it begins.

Tickets on the door cost £15
