About this Event
Friday 8th May and Saturday 9th May, 7.30pm - 8.30pm
A transgender teen comes out to his family, navigating moments of support, misunderstanding, and rejection, while discovering the power of chosen family - those who see and affirm him for who he truly is. Through raw, emotional encounters with his parents and community, themes of identity, unconditional versus conditional love, and generational conflict unfold alongside moments of resilience, healing, and hope. With tenderness and honesty, “Son” invites audiences to witness a story that is at once personal, universal, and profoundly human.
“Compelling and meticulously crafted, Restitched Theatre has delivered a powerful and thought-provoking exposé of the legacy of Ireland’s Magdalene laundries, exploring themes of patriarchal power and national shame with raw honesty and unflinching detail." - Gill Wing

Restitched Theatre is a queer, feminist performance company founded by Niki Agrios and Anna Seyerle. The company creates politically charged, research-driven theatre that combines multimedia, verbatim, and participatory theatre elements. Restitched Theatre’s work challenges power structures and amplifies silenced voices through humour, vulnerability, and bold storytelling. Niki and Anna are committed to exploring socio-political narratives through non-linear, multimedia performance. Their first project, Dirty Laundry, (recently performed at The Lambeth Fringe) marked the beginning of their journey as a theatre company.
