Shedd Aquarium Guest Relations Ambassador Screening Event
Shedd Aquarium has invited you to screen for the Guest Relations Ambassador (Part-Time) role in partnership with Pyramid WorkWise Alliance, the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership's Hospitality & Tourism Center.
This is your opportunity to connect directly with Shedd’s Guest Relations team and be considered for one of the most visible and impactful roles inside the aquarium.
Position Overview
Title: Guest Relations Ambassador (Part-Time)
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Schedule Requirements:
- Must be available at least 3 days per week
- Availability must include the ability to work anytime between 7:00 AM and midnight
- At least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) is required
- Tuesdays or Wednesdays preferred
- Must be willing to work holidays
- Mandatory orientation and training will take place Monday–Thursday during the first week of employment
This is a union-represented, non-supervisory position within Guest Relations.
About the Role
Guest Relations Ambassadors are an integral part of the overall guest experience at Shedd Aquarium. Ambassadors:
- Greet and engage guests throughout the building
- Sell and scan tickets
- Assist with seating for presentations and shows
- Support wayfinding and guest navigation
- Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash transactions
- Promote memberships and premium experiences
- Provide high-energy, joyful customer service using Shedd’s GUEST framework
- Support 4D Theater, Virtual Reality experiences, and Information Desk operations
- Maintain professionalism in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
This role requires strong communication skills, flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying environments.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 1–2 years of customer service, retail, or attraction experience
- Cash handling experience
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

- Dress professionally and be prepared to discuss your availability and experience clearly
