About this Event
Join Us for Shakespeare for Improvisers!
Don't be intimidated by the Bard! Improvised Shakespeare is just like normal improv, jazzed up a bit. The words are more poetic, the plot stakes are higher, but the core ideas remain the same. If thou art an improviser looking for thy next fix, or a Shakespeare lover searching for thine own quill and parchment, thou hast found thy journey's end here!
Spend this one-day course with Beth Organ and a group of new friends, taking your improv to Bard level.
This course will:
- flex your short and long form improv muscles
- get you fluent in Shakespearean language
- prime your rhyming
- teach you how to structure an improvised Shakespeare long form show
- be enormous Midsummer fun!!

Testimonials for Beth’s ‘Introduction To Musical Improv’ course, hosted with Improquo:
“That was so much fun. Beth created a really safe and non judgemental space for us to play with a wonderful stream of games, exercises and ideas. Thank you!
What is there to say about the musical improv course, other than its amazing, confidence boosting, energising, and for me takes improv comedy to the next level.”
“Beth, our course leader, made this experience what it was. Her leadership set an environment and tone of fun, safety and enjoyment that made it impossible to not give something a go. She broke each principle down into small easy to digest parts matched always with a great supporting exercise, and coached us through challenges. I’m amazed at what we all accomplished in just four weeks and that is owed to how Beth delivered the course. Expert facilitation.”
“Going into the course I didn’t know what to expect. I knew I would have fun. I knew I would meet new people. I knew I would learn something new. I also knew I couldn’t sing, but loved singing. Leaving the course, I’m left wanting more. I did have lots and lots of fun. I did meet a fantastic bunch of people. I definitely learnt a tonne of new skills. I also still can’t sing, still love singing but I now know what a harmony is, and how to incorporate rhythm and rhyme. My advice to anyone thinking of giving it a go would be, stop thinking about it and jump straight in, with both feet, right into the deep end. I promise you won’t regret it.”
“I loved the ensemble work, the forms, the honesty. It's easy to get lost in the idea that improv is only to be played for the laughs, and yet there is a deeper truth to it. A five-star rating from me. Thank you. I’d love to see and do more.”
