About this Event
Seen.Unseen. is a photographic exhibition by students from Parrs Wood Secondary School. Over the spring term, 45 year 10 GCSE photography students have worked with Mark Hobbs, an award winning documentary photographer, to explore the brief of 'visible, invisible'. Students have developed their own individual ideas and captured on camera things we see every day but take for granted, or looked into hidden stories in our community. This exhibition showcases their work.
It's free to visit anytime during the festival. You'll find the work outdoors at the Scout Hut on School Lane.
This project is a community arts and eduction project that Didsbury Arts Festival has co-ordinated with Mark and Parrs Wood Secondary. The outcomes of the project go well beyond the photography exhibition. Children have developed skills for life and work, many becoming more confident, better able to explain their ideas, growing in self esteem and pride in their work. This project would not have been possible without the generosity of Creamline Dairies, Joyful Orthodontics, Choice Home Tutoring, Paul Andrew Jones Interiors, Realm Property Finance, Towers and Ward Hadaway.
