About this Event
Sew Her Story Workshop Series
Celebrate Women’s History Month with hands-on, screen-free sewing workshops inspired by trailblazing women. Each class begins with an engaging historical discussion where students learn about the featured pioneer and complete a fill-in-the-blank worksheet together, promoting participation, focus, and retention.
Next, we review materials, tools, and safety rules to ensure everyone is confident before starting. Then, students dive into guided sewing projects:
- Custom Headband & Scrunchie Set inspired by Florence Griffith-Joyner’s bold Olympic fashion style and confidence.
All projects are beginner-friendly, with step-by-step guidance provided. Students leave with a finished project and a deeper understanding of how style, identity, and perseverance can be expressed through sewing.
All materials included. Ages 8-14. No prior sewing experience required.
